ATTICA. Athens. Circa 420s-404 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 23 mm, 17.00 g, 9 h). Head of Athena to right, wearing crested Attic helmet decorated with three olive leaves and palmette. Rev. ΑΘΕ Owl standing right, head facing; to left, olive sprig and crescent; all within incuse square. Kroll 8. Svoronos pls. 15-17 passim. Banker's marks and test cuts, otherwise, good fine.

An interesting detail about this coin is that the banker's mark on the reverse also shows an owl. We thus have two owls on an Athenian tetradrachm - talk about carrying owls to Athens!
